Estate planning is complicated and can also be emotional. “I tell my new clients, ‘forget everything you know about estate planning. We’re going to start with a clean slate, and before we complete our meeting, I’m going to make sure you understand everything we discussed so that you can make the best decisions for you and your family.’”
Larry Ingber helps his clients navigate the complexities of estate and gift planning to create lasting legacies that protect their wealth and ensure that their wishes are met well into the future. He provides clients – new parents, modern families, high-net-worth individuals, and others – with advice informed by more than 35 years of experience helping clients achieve their planning goals. He drafts wills and establishes trusts, and walks people through the process and what they should expect.
In addition, Larry is regularly engaged by individuals, corporate executors, and trustees to assist with the administration of estates and trusts throughout New York, Florida, and New Jersey. He has significant experience assisting clients with retirement distribution planning and preparing estate and gift tax returns. He also represents clients in federal and New York State estate tax audits.
“I’m a good listener. One of my clients told me that she got more talking to me than with her therapist as I helped her work through some complex family issues that were triggered by estate planning.“
Clients appreciate Larry’s compassion and understanding as they work through the emotions that can accompany estate planning and administration. They look for his guidance to resolve internal family issues and disputes. Clients count on his thorough explanations of complex concepts – such as the fair distribution of assets, the best options for elder care, or how to minimize taxes while maximizing benefits for their loved ones – to help guide their decisions.
Larry is the past President and a current Board Member of the Long Island region of the Jewish National Fund and sat on the Board of the Woodbury Jewish Center. He taught graduate tax courses as an Adjunct Professor the CW Post School of Professional Accountancy. Outside the office, Larry spends as much time as he can with his family, his wife of nearly 40 years, their two sons and daughters-in-law, and their adorable grandson.
